Death of Peter JAMES, well known resident and farmer n.w. of Batavia, occurred at his home Sunday morning Apr. 6... Heart trouble following influenza.
Obit. Son of Wm. & Hester (SNOOK) JAMES, born near Batavia, Jefferson County, Iowa, July 30, 1867, died at his home near Batavia Apr. 6, 1919, age 51-8-16.
In 1894 he married Lula BERRIER, who preceded him in death. Two daughters, Mrs. Ruth RAINS of Des Moines and Mrs. Gladys RAINS of near Birmingham.
In 1904 married Miss Rosa FRENCH; five children, Cecil, Carter, Ralph, Violet and Hester, who with his wife survive. Also survived by aged mother, eight brothers, Fred of Topeka, Kan., Theodore, Centralia, Wash.; William, Batavia; George of Selma; Edward, Batavia; Welda and Rolla, Fairfield; Orval, Batavia; and three sisters, Mrs. Jennie HOLLENBECK of Witten, S.D.; Mrs. Bell FELL of Lincoln, Neb., Mrs. Sadie SULLIVAN of Beckwith, Iowa; three grandchildren. His father and one sister preceded him in death. Member Christian Church, Batavia. Batavia Cemetery.
