Benjamin IVINS, son of Beryl and Comfort IVINS, born near Springfield, Sangamon Co., Ill. Aug. 17, 1838, died May 15, 1918, aged 79-8-28. When a small boy he went with his parents to Ky., thence to Mo., and finally settled near Libertyville, Iowa, where he grew to manhood.

Jan. 2, 1858, married Sarah Ann PRATHER; six children; two survive: Mrs. Margaret ELDER, and Mrs. Lester BURNAUGH of Libertyville. Co. B, 19th Iowa Vol. Inv., enl. July, 1861.... wife died soon after the war and on Oct. 11, 1873, he married Mrs. Rosanna C. PORTER; 10 children, eight survive: Arthur of Garden Grove; Lee and Rowley of Ferndale, Calif.; Geo. of Colorado; Mrs. Elmer FORNEY of Fairfield; Mrs. Ben D. COOKE of Chicago; Mrs. J. E. FORNEY, Mrs. Fred MORRISON and one stepson, W. E. PORTER of Batavia... Interment in Batavia Cemetery.
