Page 8, Column 2BATAVIA, Ia. ---- Mrs. Bert HUFFMAN, well known resident of the Batavia community, passed away Thursday at 12:40 p.m. in the St. Joseph's hospital in Ottumwa. She had been in poor health the past year and in serious condition the past several weeks.
Last rites will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell funeral chapel in Batavia. The services will be in Batavia cemetery. The iamson of Fairfield and burial will be in the Batavia cemetery. Lydia Malinda HUFFMAN, 56, was born Jan. 12, 1895, near Eldon, Ia., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus CANNY. She was united in marriage to Bert HUFFMAN on May 3, 1916, at Ottumwa.
The couple lived in the Eldon community until 1924 when they moved to the Batavia community where they have lived since. Mrs. HUFFMAN was a member of the Eldon Christian church and the American Legion auxiliary at Batavia.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Fern, Batavia; two sons, Delbert and Clell, both of Batavia and two grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Rose BROWN, North English, Ia., and Mrs. Minnie HART, Bureau, Ill.; and three brothers, Elzie and Lacey CANNY, both of Eldon and John CANNY, Ottumwa.
Mrs. HUFFMAN was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
