HOLMES. Martha Susan KEITH, oldest daughter of John and Elizabeth KEITH, born Mar. 8, 1845, in Indiana, died Dec. 21, 1926, at the home of her granddaughter where she spent the last two months of her life, being 81-9-13.

She moved to Iowa with her parents when she was 7 years old to the farm near Libertyville where she grew to womanhood. Jan. 1, 1862, married John W. HOLMES of Batavia, spending the rest of her life there. Husband died Apr. 20, 1898 (bur. Holmes Cemetery). Member Baptist, then Christian Church.

Leaves one daughter, Mrs. Sarah E. CLARK, one sister, Mrs. J. H. DAGGY, of Bayard, Neb., two half-sisters, Mrs. C. A. HESTON of Libertyville, and Mrs. George BROWN of Calif.; five grandchildren: Mrs. Martha MORRISON, Mrs. Pearl KRUMBOLTZ, Mrs. Earnest TEETER and Johnnie CLARK of Batavia, and Mrs. H. A. LINN of E. Pleasant Plain; 11 grgrchn and one grgrgrson. Batavia Cemetery.
