ABINGDON. James K. HENDERSON, 77, operator of the Abingdon general store, died suddenly Monday at 1:10 p.m. at his home here.

Although he had been in failing health for some time, his death was unexpected. He had visited the store on Sunday.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Abingdon Christian church in charge of the Rev. Kermit Black. Burial will be in Batavia cemetery. The body is at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

HENDERSON was born Dec. 27, 1886 in Decatur county, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William HENDERSON. He was reared and educated in Decatur county. He was married to Maud McDOWELL in 1908. She preceded him in death Sept. 15, 1948.

HENDERSON was a member of the Latter Day Saints church at Davis City, Iowa. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Arvid DOROTHY, Abingdon; one granddaughter; and one brother John HENDERSON, Atchison, Kansas. One grandchild, one brother and two sisters are deceased.
