HE WAS MEMBER OF PIONEER FAMILY. Gabriel Snider (son of Benjamin & Rebecca Smith Snider) died at Abingdon Sunday after a long illness. He was a son of Benjamin Snider, a pioneer settler of Iowa who operated the Huddleston mill on Skunk river for many years in the early days. As a young man the son found employment there and developed considerable ability as a mechanic. He was an inventor of several useful devices, but none of them was ever put to practical use. Mr. Snider was a native of Indiana, born Aug 16 1839 and came to Iowa as a child. His wife, formerly Frances Peters, daughter of another pioneer family, and several children survive him.

This data transcribed for genealogical purposes; I am not related to the subject.
