OBITUARY. Rheuhama Black was born Nov 29 1835 in Virginia. In 1856 she came to Des Moines township, this county, where she has since resided. In 1862 she was united in marriage with Francis A. Poland who survives. Their home was never blessed with any children of their own, still she reared or helped to rear fourteen girls. Member M. P. Church at Selma. She died Sat. Nov 18 1916. Grandma Poland was a good woman, and always ready to help in time of sickness. She will be greatly missed in the community, as she was a kind friend and mother to all. Funeral services at the late residence six miles southeast of Batavia 1 o’clock p.m. Mon. Nov 20 1916, Rev. J. H. Caughlan officiating. A quartet from County Line church furnished the singing.
