PLEASANT PLAIN, Ia.-Vincent J. FRITZ, 83, Pleasant Plain, died at 10:25 p.m. last night at the Jefferson county hospital in Fairfield. He had been in poor health for two years and seriously ill for the past five days.
Last rites will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. J.L. Bergthold officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph cemetery.
The Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Gould funeral home in Brighton.
Vincent J. FRITZ was born June 24, 1880, in Jefferson county. He was the son of John and Mary POHREN FRITZ, and he spent his entire life in Washington and Jefferson counties.
He was united in marriage on Nov. 22, 1905, at the Clear Creek church to Magdalena SIREN (sic - SIEREN), who survives. A retired farmer, he had lived the past 27 years in Pleasant Plain. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Raymond FRITZ, Brighton; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, Peter, East Pleasant Plain; Mike and Mathew, both of Brighton; and Leo, Washington; also one sister, Mrs. Ambrose LUTZ, East Pleasant Plain.
He was preceded in death by one son, one brother and a sister.
