FRANK SHELANGOSKI, 65, died Wednesday evening last week. Born Feb. 11, 1879, about five miles south of here in the neighborhood of the Polish church. Son of ANTHONY and MARY KASOWSKI SHELANGOSKI; Jan. 27, 1903 married KATIE BOYRUSKY, who died Oct. 1, 1939 ….Burial at St. Joseph’s East Pleasant Plain.

Frank SHELANGOSKI Leaves Six Children

Frank SHELANGOSKI, who died at his home southwest of town Wednesday night, had been ill four months. He was born February 11, 1879 in the Polishville community in Jefferson county, a son of Anthony and Mary (KASOWSKI) SHELANGOSKI. He was married January 27, 1903 to Katie BOYRUSKY, who preceeded (sic) him in death four years ago, October 1, 1939. He then married Katherine MELINSKI January 15, 1944, who, with his six children, is left to mourn his death.

The children are: Andy SHELANGOSKI, Birmingham, Iowa; Adam, who is somewhere overseas; Mrs. Irene GLIDER of Keota, Iowa; Mrs. Martha JOHNSTON of Independence, Iowa; Mrs. Bertha KUPKA, Rochelle, Ill., and Mrs. Mary HOPKINS of Muscatine, Iowa.

There are also three brothers and two sisters: Peter of Brighton, Leo of Washington, Ignatius of Fairfield, Mrs. Josephine SCHRACK of Moline, Illinois and Mrs. Victoria MELINSKI of Washington, with six half-brothers and four half-sisters: Vincent, Steve, Alex and Albert, all of East Pleasant Plain, Joe, in a military camp in Georgia, Bernard of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Sophia HOBBS, Mrs. Mary HULL, both of Ottumwa, and Celesta and Agnes SHELANGOSKI of East Pleasant Plain. There are also seven grandchildren.
