WOODARD, FRESCOLN, SMITH

Obit. Jane Shalfin WOODARD, daughter of John and Mary WOODARD, born Chester County, Pa., Oct. 1, 1837, died Apr. 30 at the home of her son, C. S. FRESCOLN near Batavia, aged 67-5-4.

Married Leonard FRESCOLN June 1, 1854, and he died in 1875 (sic - 1876). Nine children, eight sons and a daughter. Three who survive are C.S. of Batavia, Joseph K. of Smithfield, Neb., and Ellen of Delta, Col. She leaves 23 grandchildren.

Mrs. FRESCOLN with her husband moved to Stark Co., Ohio, about 1856 where they resided eight years and then came to Jefferson County where she continued to reside until the close of her life. Member Missionary Bapt. Ch.

Note: Jane remarried to Washington J.M. SMITH in 1878 and was later divorced from him. She is buried under the FRESCOLN name in Batavia Cemetery. Her first husband, Rev. Leonard FRESCOLN, is in Moorman Cemetery with one of their young sons, David J.. Another of their sons, Jamie, is in McCleary Cemetery.
