FISHER Services Planned Friday

BATAVIA, Ia. -- Last rites for George William FISHER, 87, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral chapel here.

FISHER died Monday at 10 p.m. at Arthur Paxton home four miles north of Batavia after a serious illness of two weeks. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Ronald Mercer. Burial will be in the Batavia cemetery.

FISHER farmed for many years and later operated a drayage service in Batavia. He was born June 28, 1870, in Jefferson county, the son of Milton and Mary SEARS FISHER. He was married to Sarah Effie TAIT Sept. 25, 1902. She preceded him in death March 15, 1944.

FISHER is survived by four sons, Harvey, Milton, Ira and Bruce, and two daughters, Wilda and Effie. One brother, Ralph FISHER, also survives. One son, one sister, and two brothers are deceased.
