MCELDERRY, STANSBERRY, PEEBLER

DEATH OF A WELL KNOWN FARMER. Jonathan McELDERRY, a resident of Jefferson County since 1846, died at his home in Des Moines township Thursday. He had been in ill health for three years past, but had been in a serious condition for not more than a month. He was born in Jefferson County, Ohio, and was in his seventy-third year. He was married in this county to Mary A. STANSBERRY, who survives him. He also leaves four adult children, John W., and J. F. McELDERRY and Mrs. Lewis PEEBLER of this county, R. W. of Smith County, Kansas, and James A. of Davis County. Mr. McELDERRY was a man of excellent character and a good citizen. He was a soldier in Co. G, 13th Iowa Infantry. The body was interred Friday in the Dunkard cemetery in Des Moines township, Rev. J. T. Wyllie of Libertyville conducting the funeral services.
