Mrs. Ida Belle VORHIES DEAN, 84, of Batavia, died at 4:15 p.m. Thurs. at the Rest Haven Nursing Home here. Daughter of William B. and Elizabeth TAYLOR, and was born April 23, 1868, in Jefferson County. She had lived in Jefferson County her entire life, except the last two months that she spent in Ottumwa.

Married to Jesse VORHIES in 1890 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1909. In 1916 she was married to Enoch L. DEAN, who died in 1938.

Surviving are two sons, Daniel VORHIES, Ottumwa, and Rex. W. VORHIES, Cheyenne, Wyoming; two daughters, Mrs. Grace DODSON, Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Aleatha ARNETT, Wichita, Kans.; a sister Mrs. Emmy HIGGENBOTTOM, Salem; three grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

Funeral 10 a.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. LaVerne Morris of the Davis Street Christian Church. Burial will be in the Ottumwa Cemetery. (Jesse VORHIES bur. Glasgow Cemetery)
