Rebecca Jane, daughter of James O. and Lydia CHANDLER HAMERSLY, born at Newberry, Davis County, Ind., Oct. 22, 1849, died at her home in Hillsboro Jan. 20, 1925, age 75-3-4. She was the second of a family of four children, all of whom preceded her in death.

At the age of 3 years she came with her parents to Fairmont, Mo.; in 1863 the family moved to Bladensburg where she grew to womanhood. Since her marriage she has lived in the vicinity of Bladensburg and Batavia until she came to Hillsboro in 1907.

Married Nov. 12, 1871, to John F. COPELAND; five children, Lovilla, Loren F., Lottie, Clyde W. (died in infancy Dec. 2, 1881), and Laura. Husband died Mar. 14, 1910. M.E. Church.

Survived by children: Mrs. Laura CLARK and Loren E. COPELAND of Batavia, Mrs. Lovilla LAZENBY and Lottie COPELAND of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Helen, Mildred and Maurice COPELAND, and Loren A. CLARK.....
