... -Ozro JEWETT of Pontiac, Mich., came last evening being called here by the serious illness of his mother, Mrs. W. H. CONNER, who has pneumonia and is at the Jefferson County hospital. Her husband Dr. CONNER is also ill at their home, 806 West Washington street. ...

MRS. R. CONNER PASSED AWAY
Yesterday Afternoon at the Jefferson County Hospital of Pneumonia

Mrs. Rosella CONNER, wife of Dr. W. H. CONNER, a well known physician here, passed away yesterday afternoon about 3:30 o'clock at the Jefferson County hospital where she had been a patient since Sunday being ill with pneumonia.

Mrs. CONNER was the mother of Allen JEWETT, the first Jefferson county boy killed in the World war and for whom the local American Legion post was named.

In early life Mrs. CONNER was married to Ozro JEWETT, who died here a number of years ago. She is survived by two sons by this marriage Ozro JEWETT of Pontiac, Mich., and Donald W. JEWETT, at home.

Her husband, Dr. CONNER, is quite ill at their home, 806 West Washington street.

The funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of two brothers from New York, who are expected here tomorrow.

Tomorrow Afternoon From the Butler Funeral Home; Burial at Evergreen

The last rites for Mrs. Rosella CONNER, wife of Dr. W. H. CONNER, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Butler Funeral home. Christian Science services will be conducted.

The Order of Eastern Star of which she was a member will have charge of the services at the grave. Burial will be made in Evergreen cemetery,

Mrs. CONNER passed away Wednseday afternoon at the Jefferson Co., hospital after being ill with pneumonia.

... -All the American Legion Auxiliary members are asked to meet at the Woodman hall tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock sharp to attend in a body the funeral of Mrs. W. H. CONNER Jefferson county's first gold star mother. The funeral is at the Butler funeral home at 2:30 o'clock.

LAST RITES FOR MRS. R. CONNER
Were Held Yesterday Afternoon from the Butler Funeral Home

Many relatives and friends paid their last respects to the memory of Mrs. Rosella CONNER, Jefferson county's first gold star mother, at the last rites held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Butler funeral home.

The Christian Science services in charge of Mrs. Lonnie Graham were conducted. There were many beautiful floral pieces banked around the casket, and Mrs. William H. Neibert and Miss Marie Scott sang the song, "No Night There," being accompanied on the piano by Prof. J. P. Moorhead. The Order of Eastern Star conducted their services before the funeral party went to Evergreen cemetery where burial took place.

The pallbearers were American Legion men: Dr. Chester Fordyce, A. E. Turner, John Barwise, Edmund Hunt, Charles Ireland and C. F. Goodman. Members of the Order of Eastern Star,, American Legion Auxiliary and the American Legion attended the funeral in a body.

Among those from a distance attending the last rites were: Charles and Wilbert WALTS of Watertown, N. Y., her brothers, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Hawbaker of Ft. Madison, Mrs. C. M. Buchanan of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Hawbaker of Stockport, Ray Hawbaker of Hillsboro, and her son and wife Mr. and Mrs. Ozro JEWETT of Pontiac, Mich.

Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.038, with first husband Ozro JEWETT. She was born July 7, 1862, and died January 9, 1929. Her date of death on Ozro's monument is noted as January 13th, 1929, in error - this was her burial date. Second husband Dr. Warren Hamilton CONNER is also buried in Evergreen Cemetery, in Lot SDiv.2-002 with his first wife Mary VanDerVeer; neither of them have a gravestone.
