PIONEER RESIDENT PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Harriett CONNER, well known and respected citizen, resident of this community for over 50 years, at her home north of Batavia Sunday May 27, aged 87-9-21. The funeral services were held at the late residence north of Batavia and the funeral cortege then wended its way by auto to the Batavia Cemetery where the body was laid to rest beside that of her husband.
Maiden name was WELLS, born in Coshocton, Ohio, Aug. 30, 1829, and died on the old home farm four miles north of Batavia, Iowa. Married Abraham CONNER Mar. 4, 1849; four children, one died in infancy. Living: Charles of Batavia; John of Batavia; and Mrs. Mary E. LEWELLEN of Eckhart, Col.; 16 grandchildren, 11 grgrchn. She came to Iowa in 1861 and has lived in this community ever since. She was the last of a large family....
