In the Cottage Grove, Ore., "Nugget" of the 8th inst. is an announcement of the death of Elsie Ann SEARS, nee COSSELL, who was a resident of this county from 1840 to 1861, and was married here in 1848 to Joseph SEARS. The family went to southern Oregon in 1861, and the father died there in 1880. Mrs. SEARS was the mother of six children, all of whom survive her. Many early residents of Jefferson County will remember the family.
