OBITUARY

MRS. GUSSIE CODY

In the death of Mrs. Gussie CODY, Lockridge, the whole community has lost one of its most dearly beloved and highly respected citizens. To our
knowledge, we think it can truthfully be said she had not an enemy in the world. For a number of years her time has been spent in practical nursing.

It was while in the duties of this profession that she was taken suddenly ill at the Art Johnson home in Lockridge, where she was acting as nurse for Mrs. Phina Erickson. As she became worse she was taken to the hospital in
Fairfield on Sunday evening, August 24th. She was there only a few hours when she passed to the Great Beyond on Monday morning, August 25, 1930.

Funeral services were held at the Swedish Upland church on Wednesday afternoon with interment in the cemetery nearby. Many relatives and friends
from far and near gathered to try in every way possible to express to the stricken son Harry and sister Ada ANDERSON, their sympathy. Student Ernest Nelson of the Trinity Lutheran church of Lockridge officiating. He spoke
helpful words to thos assembled, and chose as his text the 90th psalm.

The casket was laden with beautiful flowers which loving hearts had provided. Mrs. Chris Rauscher and Mrs. Clarence Boos sang tenderly: "We Shall Seek But Not Forever," "It Is Well With My Soul," and "It is Going Down The Valley," with Mrs. Tony Carlson as accompanist. Pall bearers who carried the casket to the grave were:

Ernest Rauscher, Louis Eggenberger, Ross Shuppy, Frank Johnson, Frank Lewis and John Boos, where the loved one was left to rest in the keeping of her Creator.
