A GOOD MAN GONE.

Editors Ledger:--Swan JOHNSON died at his home near Pleasant Plain Saturday, after a sickness of six months, during which he suffered the most excruciating pain. Mr. JOHNSON was born in Sweden, July 22d, 1843, and came to the United States and to this county in 1868, and was married to Charlotte Fredericka ANDERSON the same year. He was the father of nine children, eight of whom survive him. He became a member of the Swedish Luthran church in 1870, and had ever remained faithful and consistent in his attachment to his faith. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. J. Bengston. Although stricken down in the prime of life, Mr. JOHNSON expressed no hesitancy in meeting death, and rested in the assurance of the home beyond. He was a man who was very generally esteemed, and in his death the community has met an irreparable loss. Mrs. JOHNSON and her children unite in tendering their thanks to the friends who have shown them so many kindnesses in their time of sorrow.
