Services Wednesday afternoon for local woman, born in SwedenMrs. Charlotte M. JOHNSON, 88, native of Sweden, passed away at 10 o'clock Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anton CARLSON, 1007 South Second St. Mrs. JOHNSON had been an invalid for the past seven years, and bedfast since July.
The body was taken to the Hoskins funeral home. Services will be held at the Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. E. A. Piper. Burial wil be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. JOHNSON was born in Sweden on Feb. 13, 1853. She came to America when she was 14 years old. On February 19, 1881, she was united in marriage to Charles JOHNSON. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1911. For the past 17 years Mrs. JOHNSON had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. CARLSON. She was a member of the Lutheran church of this city.
Surviving are three children, Mrs. A. R. CARLSON and Arthur F. JOHNSON of Fairfield, and Elmer C. JOHNSON of Denver, Colo. Two sons Edward and Wesley, preceded her in death. Nine grandchildren also survive.

Many relatives and friends from a distance were in Fairfield on Wednesday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Charlotte JOHNSON, mother of Mrs. Anton R. CARLSON and Arthur F. JOHNSON of this city. Another son, Elmer JOHNSON of Denver, was here for the services.
Other relatives and friends present included Miss Mabel LINSTROM, Elmer LINSTROM and Edward LINSTROM, all of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Leedham and son, and Miss Dorothy JOHNSON, all of Davenport; Mrs. Anna LINSTROM, Gus Erickson, Mrs. John Pohlson, Mrs. Edith LINSTROM, Mrs. Frank McConnaha, Mrs. Helen Metzger, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Reece, Mrs. Sarah CARLSON and son, all of Ottumwa; and Henry CARLSON of New London.
