A sad bereavement has fallen on the family of A. W. JAQUES, our new county clerk, in the death of his wife, which occurred Sunday evening. Mrs. JAQUES had been a sufferer from consumption for several years, and since the removal of the family to this city had been confined to her room nearly all the time. For a day or two preceding her death she had appeared much better, and her sudden demise was quite unexpected.-- As a friend and neighbor she was held in high esteem, and her loss will be deeply felt inside the family circle. The remains were taken to Abingdon Monday for interment.
