Funeral services will be held Thursday in Fairfield for Wiley W. JAMES, 83, former county resident who died Monday at Waterloo (note: in Black Hawk Co., IA).
Services will be held Wednesday in Waterloo. Local rites will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of Dr. J. Henry Teele. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
JAMES farmed in Jefferson county and later operated a restaurant at Clarion before moving to Waterloo in 1929. He was born in this county Sept. 16, 1873, the son of William and Hester SNOOK JAMES. He was married to Iva Mae SHIPLER Sept. 30, 1899.
JAMES was a member of the Batavia Methodist church. He is survived by his wife and a son, Gilbert JAMES, Waterloo, and a daughter Mrs. A. J. TARRSON, Chicago. Three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two brothers, Arval JAMES, Batavia, and Ed JAMES, Mexico, Mo.; and a sister, Mrs. Sadie SULLIVAN, Fairfield, also survive.
