MRS. WILEY W. JAMES

Mrs. Wiley W. JAMES, 82, formerly of 415 Adrian St., died at the Barton Nursing Home of complications of advanced age at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. She was born Iva Mae SHIPLEY, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah BROWN SHIPLEY in Jefferson county on Feb. 18, 1878. On Sept. 20, 1899, at Batavia, she was married to Wiley W. JAMES. He died Apr. 8, 1957. She has resided here since 1929.

She and her husband formerly operated a cafe at Clarion, Ia. Surviving are one son, Gilbert JAMES of 2612 Ordhard St.; one daughter, Mrs. A. J. TARRSON of Chicago; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Batavia Methodist church and the Townsend Club No. 1 of Waterloo. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Memories. The body will be taken to the Behner funeral home, Fairfield, Ia., Thursday morning, where services tentatively are set for Friday afternoon with Dr. Henry Teel, pastor of First Methodist church of Fairfield, officiating. Burial will be in the Evergren cemetery of Fairfield.

JAMES Funeral Will Be Friday

Last rites for Mrs. Welday W. JAMES, 82, will be Friday at the Weston Behner funeral home. The services will be at 2 p.m. with Dr. J. Henry Teele officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. JAMES, a former resident of Jefferson county, passed away Tuseday morning at Waterloo (note: in Black Hawk Co., IA).
