Clifton ISRAEL Dies Suddenly

LIBERTYVILLE, Ia. -- Clifton H. ISRAEL, 60, Libertyville farmer and stock-raiser, died suddenly last night at the Jefferson county hospital. He had been ill since suffering a heart attack 10 days ago.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home in charge of the Rev. John Ballensky. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Fairfield.

ISRAEL had been a Jefferson county resident for 47 years and had made his home in Libertyville for 23 years.

He was born in Van Buren county Sept. 10, 1892, the son of George and Lottie CHRISTIAN ISRAEL. He was married to Mary DOUGHERTY DAVIS Feb. 7, 1946 at Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors include his wife and one brother, Charles ISRAEL, Fairfield. One sister preceded him in death.

Clifton had been married three times: first, to Mabel Josephine LINSTROM in 1919, and divorced from her in 1928; second, to Josephine Ella HOLLENBECK in 1930, and she died in 1937; third, to Mary Elizabeth DOUGHERTY DAVIS in 1946. Mary subsequently remarried to Kenneth MANNING, died in 2003, and her burial place is unknown... it is NOT with Clifton on 2nd.006, or with Kenneth on 3rd.188.
