Charlie ISRAEL Dies Suddenly

Charlie ISRAEL, 73, died suddenly this morning at his home at 104 N. Fifth street.

ISRAEL was found dead in his room about 8 a.m. by Mrs. Harry Stortz, his landlady. He had risen some time earlier and was seated in a chair when he was stricken.

Jack Raymond, Jefferson county coroner, said death was caused by a heart attack.

Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of Dr. J. Henry Teele. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

ISRAEL had been active in the funeral business in Jefferson county for more than 50 years. He retired Dec. 31 after being employed at the Behner Funeral home for 23 years.

ISRAEL was born Jan. 29, 1886 in Van Buren county, the son of George and Lottie ISRAEL. He was a bachelor. One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
