Joseph GREINER

PACKWOOD -- Joseph GREINER, 61, of Packwood, died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 20, 1995, at his farm northwest of Richland.

The funeral Mass was at 2 p.m. today at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Richland, with the Rev. David Brownfield and the Rev. Tim Regan officiating. Burial was in Prairie Center Cemetery at Packwood (a/k/a Packwood Cemetery). Memorials have been established to Mother Cabrini Church and the American Heart Association. Gould Funeral Home in Richland was in charge of arrangements.

GREINER was born Dec. 18, 1933, northwest of Richland, the son of Clarence and Gertrude LILLIG GREINER. He was raised in the Richland area and graduated from Richland High School in 1951. On Nov. 15, 1958, he married Donna KIEFER at Clear Creek. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany for two years, moved to the Packwood area in 1961 and farmed in Jefferson and Keokuk counties. He was active in Mother Cabrini Catholic Church, was president of Packwood Lions Club, a member of Richland American Legion, Jefferson County Pork Producers, and Farm Bureau.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Steve of Austin, Texas, John of Packwood; two daughters, Julie MANNING of Batavia, Janice GREINER of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren; four sisters, Betty BRIGGS of Indianola, Susie SCHULTZ of Cedar Rapids, Margie HUESTON of Blue Springs, Mo., and Lois KIEFER of Aurora, Colo. His parents; a sister, Jeanette TONASKET; and two brothers, Eddie and Sammy, preceded him in death.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT ON THE 25TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1995, THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF JOSEPH GREINER, DECEASED, BEARING DATE OF THE 29TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1982, WAS ADMITTED TO PROBATE IN THE ABOVE NAMED COURT AND THAT DONNA J. GREINER WAS APPOINTED EXECUTOR OF SAID ESTATE.
