Mrs. Frank CHALUPA, 94, former Pleasant Plain resident, died at 7:15 a.m. today at the Parkview Care Center where she had been a patient the past six years.
Last rites will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Friends Church in Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Wade Dillavou in charge. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery. The family will be at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday to receive friends.
Katherine (sic) HOEFERT CHALUPA was born June 22, 1878, near Wellman, the daughter of John V. and Dorotha GLIDER HOEFERT. She was a graduate of the Iowa City Academy and taught school in the Wellman Community for a number of years.
She was married Feb. 22, 1905, to Frank CHALUPA. She lived most of her married life on a farm near Pleasant Plain. She was a member of the Friends Church, WCTU, Farm Bureau, and PTA.
Mrs. CHALUPA is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dale TUCKER, New London, and Mrs. Wilbur FORBES, Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1948; one son, one granddaughter, and six brothers and sisters.
