Samantha L. HOCHULY died at her home in this city Thursday morning. She was the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. LEGGETT, a member of one of Fairfield's early and well known families. Mrs. HOCHULY was born at Carrollton, O., Mar. 30th, 1834, and spent the earlier years of her life there. She came to this city with her parents in 1854, and, October 13th, 1864, was married to Rev. John HOCHULY, a minister of the Episcopal church. Fairfield was their home most of the time after that, and the husband died here May 25th, 1893. Mrs. HOCHULY was the mother of five children, four of whom are now living--Mary L., Martha and Theodore in this city and Mrs. W. A. MAST at Heyworth, Ill. She was a woman who had borne an active part in the social and religious life of Fairfield for many years. She was kindly in her manner, considerate of those with whom she came in contact, happy in her home life, a woman of many excellences, and one whose death will be very generally mourned. Funeral services were held at the family home on East Washington street Friday afternoon. They were conducted by Rev. C. H. Bohn of Mt. Pleasant, a former rector of St. Peter's Episcopal church of this city.
