Death of Mrs. HINKLE.

Mrs. Nancy HINKLE, wife of David HINKLE, died in this city Saturday afternoon, after a period of illness and suffering of nearly four years' duration. The maiden name of deceased was DAY, and she was born on the gulf coast of Mississippi. At the age of eight years she accompanied her parents to Indiana, where both father and mother died in less than six weeks, leaving a family of 7 children, the eldest 13. March 15th, 1838, deceased was married to David HINKLE, who survives her. They removed to Iowa in 1854, residing on a farm in this county until their removal to Fairfield two years ago. Three children were born to them, Dr. G. W. HINKLE of Wayne county, Mayor J. M. HINKLE of this city and a daughter, and this is the first time the home circle has been broken by death. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon, Rev. H. M. Lentz conducting the services.

Note: Buried in Lot Old.P.295. Husband David died in 1901 and was buried with her. Nancy's gravestone has the death year as 1889, however she died in 1888 per her obituaries and Death Certificate.
