DIANAH WEBSTER HIBGEE

Dianah Ellen WEBSTER was born near Wapello, Iowa, May 26, 1845. She was one of nine children and the last surviving one born to Mr. and Mrs. David WEBSTER, pioneer settlers of Louisa county.

She was married on August 13, 1863 to Joseph HIGBEE. To this marriage two sons were given of whom one Rev. M. V. HIGBEE of Boone, Ia., survives. The husband and father died June 13, 1907, since which time the widow has continued to live at the home which she and her husband built in 1890, except that two years were spent in the home of her son in Boone, Iowa.

Mrs. HIGBEE's last sickness covered a period of about six weeks during which time she gradually grew weaker till the end came in the Jefferson county hospital on June 6, 1925.

Mrs. HIGBEE was of a fearless and courageous disposition as evidenced by her life in her Iowa home and by short journeys to friends and relatives which she made without hesitation even during the last five years.

She loved companions and especially the few of whom she chose to make intimate friends. She was interested in the work of the Woman's Relief Auxiliary and in the work of the Presbyterian church of which she was a member and when strong enough a regular attendant.
