BONAPARTE -- Carles Frederick "Fritz" HELLWIG, 75, of Webster City died June 1, 1992.
He was born May 8, 1917, in Bonaparte to Howard and Flossie NORMAN HELLWIG. He married Erma FRY on July 19, 1942, in Fort Madison.
He graduated from Farmington High School and attended school in Colorado. He served in the U.S. Army from Feb. 26, 1941, to June 26, 1941. He was a member of American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Elks Club and IOOF.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Robert of Durham, N.C., Richard of Iowa City, Gordon of Falls Church, Va.; a daughter, Barbara KNIGHT of Los Angeles, Calif.; four grandchildren; and a brother, Howard of Farmington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, the Rev. Robert Gates officiating.
Family visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.
