ELIZABETH HEATON DIED AT 3 P.M.

End Came At Hospital After She Had Been Unconscious 24 Hours

Miss Elizabeth HEATON, known all over Jefferson county for her services as a nurse, died this afternoon at 3:20 o'clock at the Jefferson County hospital, where she had been ill for about six weeks.

Miss HEATON went to the hospital for an appendicitis operation and her condition was such that a blood clot formed in her leg and gangrene set in, necessitating its amputation.

Small hope was held out for her recovery, but she improved so fast that Sunday it was thought she might get well. A relapse came yesterday, however, and she sank into a comatose state from which she never emerged.

She was born in Jefferson County and lived her all of her life.
