Two Deaths In HARRIS Family

Members of a former well-known Fairfield family now residing in California mourned two deaths in two days recently, one of them a 16-month old child killed by an automobile, and the child's great grandmother who died in a nursing home.

The great grandmother was Bertha S. HARRIS, wife of the late Robert Wayne HARRIS Sr., who had made her home in California the past several years. Her husband operated a blacksmith shop in Fairfield many years.

She died May 31 at the Euclid Convalescent Center in San Diego. Services were held June 1 at the Merkeley-Mitchell Mortuary followed by cremation.

Bertha S. HARRIS is survived by two sons, Robert W. HARRIS Jr., 4701 Appleton, San Diego; and Roy E. HARRIS, San Francisco.

Mrs. HARRIS was a lifetime member of OES, Fairfield, Capter 29. The family requests donations to the Cancer Society.

Robert HARRIS' granddaughter, Lia Danielle HARRIS, 16-months old, was killed on May 30 by a car in the driveway of her home.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Robert HARRIS, San Diego.

Graveside services were held June 1 at 2 p.m. at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego.

The child is survived by her parents; one sister, Adrianna Christine, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. HARRIS Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Frank FAHN, all of San Diego.
