By Van Garrison... Paul HARPER was one of the first men we met when we were newcomers from Hastings, Neb., here in 1950. The first week I was on the Ledger there was a dinner at Walton club for the teachers and we sat with the Paul HARPERs & Marshall Johnsons. At the time Paul was president of Rotary and Marshall headed the Lions club. Paul was keenly interested in all sports and he was quite a track star during the early 20's at FHS. His specialty was the 100-yard dash & he also played football. A wonderful gentleman he was, through & through, & he'll certainly be missed. . . .
