Lester M. HARPER, 33, former Fairfield resident, died early Saturday as a result of injuries received in a fall in Davenport. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Mercy Hospital in Davenport (note: in Scott Co., IA).
Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Runge Chapel in Davenport. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in fairfield at 1 p.m.
HARPER resided at 1402 Harrison St., Davenport. He was employed as a machine operator at the Tilley Ladder Co.
HARPER was born in Fairfield May 19, 1938. He was married to Glennagean ECKHART Nov. 7, 1965.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Kent, and two daughters, Cheryl Ann and Holly Lee. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Hubert of Davenport, Nova Jr. of California; Wetsal of Fairfield; Mrs. Rex NELSON, Burlington; Mrs. William COWGER, Mrs. Robert GILLAND and Mrs. Ronald HULL, all of Davenport; and Mrs. Harlan MELLOTT, Fairfield.
Other survivors include the following half-sisters and half-brothers: Mrs. Glenn ANGSTEAD, Fairfield; Mrs. Charles HITCHCOCK, Davenport; Mrs. James MARRBERRY, Arkadelphia, Ark.; Lawrence HARPER and James HARPER, both of Davenport.
