MRS. THOMAS HANNAH

Effie B. ALLERDICE, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. ALLERDICE, was born in Perlee, Iowa, May 11, 1879.

She passed away in Denver, Colorado, February 24, 1938.

Mrs. HANNAH grew to womanhood in Pleasant Plain, Ia., graduating from the Pleasant Plain Academy in May, 1898. She then taught in the public schools until her marriage.

She was united in marriage with Thomas W. HANNAH, Feb. 21, 1900. After residing on a farm near Richland for a few years Mr. and Mrs. HANNAH moved to Fairfield to make their home for many years.

Because of Mrs. HANNAH's failing health, the family move to Denver, Colorado, in September, 1936.

Mrs. HANNAH was a member of the Pleasant Plain Friends church until her marriage when she transferred her membership to the Methodist Episcopal church. A faithful member and an active worker as long as her health permitted, she never missed an opportunity to minister to the needs and comfort of family and friends. She possessed the fine qualities of a true Christian and her life radiated a wide area of sunshine wherever her lot was cast. She loved life and was a great admirer of God's handiwork in His creation of flowers. To know her was to love her.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. D. A. NELSON of Fairfield, a son Robert L. of Ottumwa, and a son Charles R. of Denver, Colo. Also one grandson of Ottumwa. Her mother Mrs. H. M. ALLERDICE of Richland, and three sisters, Mrs. H. B. PICKARD, of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. O. M. CRANDELL of Spokane, Wash. and Mrs. Esther HADLEY of Fairfield; and three nieces and two nephews, also survive. She had been a member of the W. R. C. and the Rebekah Lodge.

Funeral services were held at the Hoskins Funeral Home in Fairfield on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 29, in charge of Dr. M. A. Gable, pastor of the Fairfield M. E. church. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.

Out-of-town relatives attending the services were: M. N. ALLERDICE and Mrs. and Mrs. Louis BOOS of Lockridge; Mrs. Anna STALKER of Richland; Mr. and Mrs. W. F. MACKSTEAD of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. W. L.
