LIBERTYVILLE RESIDENT DIES

Laura Esther HANEY, 85, long-time resident of Jefferson county, passed away at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the home of her son near Libertyville. She had been in poor health six years, bedfast three years, and seriously ill the past eight days.

Mrs. HANEY was born December 21, 1860, in Jefferson county, the daughter of the late William Albert and Martha WARNER WOODSIDE. She was united in marriage in May, 1885, to John Wesley HANEY. Her husband died September 4, 1927 (sic - Sept. 2nd).

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Nellie FICKEL, Chula Vista, California; Mrs. Elbert VORHIES, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son, Carroll A. HANEY, of near Libertyville with whom she made her home; 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Margaret BELKNAP, Ottumwa. Two children also preceded her in death.

The body was taken to the Hoskins funeral home where last rites are pending.

Mrs. HANEY Funeral Friday Afternoon

Last rites for Laura Esther HANEY will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home in charge of Rev. M. S. Ellick. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. HANEY passed away Monday at the home of her son near Libertyville.
