ROYAL NEIGHBORS WILL ATTEND HAMMOND RITE

Members of the Royal Neighbors lodge will meet Wednesday afternoon at the Hoskins funeral home to attend funeral services for Mrs. Clara HAMMOND. The services are planned for 2 o'clock.

Clara G. HAMMOND Dies At Hospital

Mrs. Clara G. HAMMOND, well known Fairfield resident, passed away about 7:20 a.m. Sunday at the Jefferson county hospital. She had been in failing health the past year and seriously ill since last November.

Last rites will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. J. Henry Teele in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Clara G. HAMMOND, 65, was born Feb. 5, 1893, near Glendale in Jefferson county, the daughter of the late Charles and Selina VEBURG JOHNSON.

She was united in marriage on March 1, 1920, to Thomas J. HAMMOND. The wedding took place at Chambersburg, Pa. Her husband passed away Feb. 28, 1937.

Mrs. HAMMOND spent her entire life in this community. Her home has been at 303 N. Second street for the past several years. She was a member of the Methodist church, the Philathea class, Royal Neighbors, American Legion Auxiliary and Iota Sigma.

She is survived by a foster son Carroll R. JOHNSON, Keokuk; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ida CROSSLAND, Fairfield; a brother, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

HAMMOND Funeral To Be Wednesday

Last rites for Clara G. HAMMOND will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. J. Henry Teele in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. HAMMOND passed away Sunday at the Jefferson county hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born Feb. 5, 1893, near Glendale, the daughter of the late Charles H. and Selma VEBURG JOHNSON, and was married to Thomas J. HAMMOND March 1, 1920. He died Feb. 28, 1937.

Mrs. HAMMOND is survived by a foster son, Carroll R. JOHNSON, Keokuk; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ida CROSSLAND, Fairfield; and a brother, Lawrence JOHNSON, Fairfield; and a number of nieces and nephews.

State of Iowa, Jefferson County, ss.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

You Are Hereby Notified, That an instrument of writing purported to be the last Will and Testament of Clara Gertrude HAMMOND, Deceased dated February 27, 1940 have been this day filed, opened and read, Monday the 17th day of March, 1958, is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court; and at 9:30 o'clock A.M., of the day above mentioned all persons interested are hereby notified and required to appear, and show cause, if any they have, why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.

Dated at Fairfield, Iowa, March 4, 1958.
