Ella W. GRANT, longtime resident of the Fairfield Community, died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday at the Nelson Nursing Home. She had been in failing health the past year.
Her husband, Glenn T. GRANT, had been in the hardware business in Fairfield for over 35 years before his retirement in 1962. The family home is at 904 E. Burlington.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Behner Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl B. Riggs will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will from 2 to 4 p.m. (sic) and 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ella W. GRANT was born Oct. 14, 1894, at Jerone, the daughter of Muchael and Anna BARTON WILSON. She was married to Glenn T. GRANT Jan. 15, 1920, in Des Moines. He survives.
Mrs. GRANT had made her home in Fairfield for over 61 years. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, she has been a member of Chapter C, PEO for 65 years; and had served as president of her church circle.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. GRANT is survived by a son, Richard GRANT, Maumee, Ohio; a daughter, Helen HILL, E. Moline, Ill.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Noble WILSON, Anaheim, Calif.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
