JOHN C. GOW TAKEN AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Well Known County Resident Will be Buried Wednesday Here

John C. GOW, 309 East Kirkwood street, died early this morning after an extended illness. He is survived by is wife and two children, and also two grandchildren.

The funeral services will be held at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday from the Hoskins Funeral Home in Fairfield. Dr. U. S. Smith will be in charge and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The I. O. O. F. will have charge of the services at the grave. The body is now at the Hoskins Funeral Home.

Aside from his wife, he leaves a son Walter E. GOW of this city and a daughter, Mrs. Fred PATTERSON of Brookville. His grandchildren are Donna Jeanne GOW of this city, and Gladys TULLER of Birmingham.

Mr. GOW was born in Scotland in 1850, and came to America in 1870. He settled in Jefferson county shortly after. He had been in poor health for the past two years, and had been seriously ill for the past year. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge No. 4, and a well known resident of this county.

Note: Buried in Lot 1st.067. Wife Grace GREENLAND GOW died in 1956 and was buried with him. This was a second marriage for both of them, John being married first to Mary E. BOWERMASTER, and Grace being married first to John William MOHLER.
