GILLY Rites Saturday

Aletha GILLY, 86, longtime resident of Fairfield, died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday at the Parkview Care Center where she had been a patient for a number of years.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Dorman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends this evening, Friday, at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Aletha GILLY was born Jan. 6, 1890, in Hebron, Neb., the daughter of Charles J. and Mary Barbara JORDAN GILLY. The family moved to Brighton when she was 2½ years old, and lived in that community for seven years before moving to Fairfield.

Miss GILLY graduated from Franklin School in Fairfield in 1908 and taught schools in Jefferson County. After completion of a business court at Howard Business School she worked as stenographer in the county attorney's office for four years.

She was later appointed deputy treasurer in the 1920's serving with Guy C. Kiger and later with Harry McWhirter. She also served as deupty auditor during the 1930's, worked in the Triple A office and for several years worked in the office for Attorney Ralph H. MUNRO until his death. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

The last surviving member of her family, she was preceded in death by one brother and a sister.

Survivors include two nieces, Roberta MUNRO and Dorothy NICHOLS.
