Paul Wesley GRABER, age 68 of Fairfield, passed on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the Jefferson County Health Center.

Paul was born October 12, 1954, to Harold DeVere and Grace Edna (CONRAD) GRABER in Fairfield. He married Nohema CASTILLO Y CASTILLO on October 4, 1986, in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico.

Paul attended Logan Elementary and graduated from Fairfield High School in the Class of 1972. He spent his senior year as a Rotary Exchange student in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, where he met Nohema. Returning to the U.S., he attended Parsons College before transferring to the University of Iowa where he graduated with a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish language. He worked as a business consultant in Mexico City for many years, where he reconnected with Nohema and they were later married.

Paul and Nohema returned to Fairfield to have and raise their children. Paul was very family-oriented and loved traveling extensively with Nohema and their three kids. He also loved spending time outside on the family farm and reading history.

Paul will be missed by his children, Christian GRABER, Jared GRABER and Nohema Marie GRABER, all of Fairfield; his siblings, Marilyn (Norbert) FUEST of Darien Center, NY, Tom (Barbara) GRABER of Dallas, TX, Jim (Deanne) GRABER of Eldridge, IA, Bill GRABER of Iowa City and John GRABER of Lockridge; and his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Grace, and by his beloved wife Nohema.

A visitation for family & friends will be 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Behner Funeral Home.

A private family service will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Nick Adam officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family and mailed to 205 West Washington Avenue, Fairfield, Iowa.
