Robert L. GREINER Sr., 85, of Ottumwa, died at 2:40 p.m. May 14, 2023 at Jefferson County Hospital.

He was born March 24, 1938 in Farson to Raymond Peter and Dorothy Grace GRIMES GREINER. He married Mary Ann ROBINSON September 22, 1960 and she preceded him in death September 28, 1997. He married Barbara TEACH.

A 1956 graduate of Richland High School, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was sent to Biloxi, MS. He had hoped to become a pilot, but found out he was color blind so he returned home. Bob worked on heavy highway equipment in Arizona for a few years before opening Greiner Implement Company in Batavia with his dad in 1963. In 1978, they moved the business to Ottumwa and Bob currently ran the business with his son, Greg, who joined the business in the 1980s. Bob was very proud of being in business for 60 years.

Bob was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation where he had served on the parish council. He wasn an advisory member of the Indian Hills Diesel Farm Equipment Board and an advisory member of the Iowa Farm Equipment Dealers Association.

Surviving is his wife, Barb; his sons, Greg (Terri) GREINER of Agency, Paul GREINER of Batavia and Robert (Cassandra) GREINER Jr. of Ozark, MO; 7 grandchildren, Tyler GREINER, Chelsea (Clint) KALLER, Sarah (Brandon) ENLOE, Emallee GREINER, Talia (Chris) DUNN, Morgan GREINER and Adam GREINER; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Cheryl WERNIMONT; 2 brothers, Donnie (Faye) GREINER and Larry (Sue) GREINER; sister-in-law, Susie GREINER; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ronnie GREINER and Raymond GREINER Jr.

Visitation will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 21st at Reece Fuenral Home with the family present to greet friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 22nd at Reece Funeral Home with Father Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery (note: in Ottumwa, Wapello Co., IA).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Indian Hills Community College Foundation.
