Cora Jessie DAVIDSON, 82, of Birmingham, died at 3:45 p.m. April 23, 2023, at Ridgewood Specialty Care with her daughter, Stacy, and one of her favorite hospice workers at her side (note: in Ottumwa, Wapello Co., IA).

She was born February 13, 1941, in Fairfield, to Edward and Mable Clara SINGLETON ANGSTEAD. Jessie married Charles DAVIDSON on November 4, 1994, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2017. A resident of Iowa most of her life, she had worked as a CNA in various nursing homes. She had worked at KFC and in the kitchen at South HyVee in Ottumwa. Jessie liked to sew and make crafts, making clothes and quilts. She enjoyed attending the Strawberry Festival and Old Threshers Reunion. Jessie could see something and then go home and make it. She enjoyed her dogs, Precious and Chase and especially enjoyed getting to spend time with her great-grandbabies.

Surviving are her four children, Jacque (Dennis) LYDOLPH of Stockport, Stacy (Monty) UNKRICH of Fairfield, Dawn (Dave) MARBERRY of Davenport and Matthew GIBERSON of Keokuk; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her foster parents who helped raise her, Richard "Dick" and Eva Mae DROZ; a grandson, Hunter STORY; four sisters, Lois HOSKINS, Minnie CLINE, Barb LITTON, Kay SIMONS; two brothers, Delmer ANGSTEAD, and Homer ANGSTEAD; as well as a brother and sister in infancy.

Visitation will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at Reece Funeral Home with her family present to greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 28, at Reece Funeral Home. the service will be livestreamed on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery (note: in Ottumwa, Wapello Co., IA).

Memorials may be made to Care Initiatives Hospice.
