MICKEY ROBERT BAINBRIDGE

Mickey Robert BAINBRIDGE, affectionately known as Mic, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on April 25, 2023, in Fairfield. Born on December 19, 1951, in South Bend, Indiana, to Robert E. and Dorothy M. BARBER BAINBRIDGE, he was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. Mic will be fondly remembered for his infectious laughter, creative spirit and unwavering kindness.

Mic graduated from Fairfield High School in 1970 and went on to have an impressive and varied career. He began working in the family business, Fairfield Glass, and dedicated most of his years to working with his family there. Mic and brother Tony spent the last several years operating the business together. His work history included positions at Burlington Glass and Barngrover Glass in Burlington, Cavner construction and Farmer's Coop in Richland and Bovard Studio, Rockwell and Casey's in Fairfield. Mic was also a member of the Foursquare Church, VFW, and Eagles Club all in Fairfield, where he made lifelong friendships and contributed to his community.

Mic was a devoted family man and is survived by his loving wife, Pamela BAINBRIDGE; his five children, Mandy (Michael) HADLEY of Richland, Grant (Christy) BAINBRIDGE of Tiffin, Mike (Heidi) BAINBRIDGE of Keosauqua, Joe (Mckensey) BAINBRDIGE of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Mahala (Jake) PHILLIPS of Mason City; and his brother, Tony J. BAINBRIDGE of Eldon. He was a proud grandfather to Michael (Jodie JONES) HADLEY, Emily (Skyler JUHL) HADLEY, Zach BAINBRIDGE, Madison BAINBRIDGE, Liberty BAINBRIDGE, Lincoln BAINBRIDGE, Lainey BAINBRIDGE, Alena BAINBRIDGE, Emily SIMPSON, Layla PHILLIPS, Piper PHILLIPS and Sawyer PHILLIPS. Mic also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy D. BAINBRIDGE.

Throughout his life, Mic pursued various interests and hobbies that showcased his creativity and passion for life. He had a special spot on the river for several years where he enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Mic was known for his love of puttering and tinkering, always finding ways to improve and fix things around him. He was known for his skill in using whatever tools and supplies were available, including duct tape. His artistic talents shone through in his stained-glass creations, which will be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to receive one of his pieces.

Mic had a deep love for music, often seen playing his guitar, singing and writing original songs that touched the hearts of those who listened. He also enjoyed connecting to people via his involvement in the citizen band radio community.

Mic's friendly demeanor, sense of humor, and creativity left a lasting impact on everyone he met. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the memories shared by those who loved him.

In accordance with Mic's wishes, his body has been cremated and a celebration of Mic's life will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the VFW in Fairfield, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory, share stories, and remember the joy he brought to their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Lord's Cupboard in Fairfield in Mic's name so that his spirit of giving and kindness can continue to make a difference in the lives of others. Memorials may be brought to the celebration at the VFW or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 104, Birmingham, IA 52535.

Mickey "Mic" Robert BAINBRIDGE will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his love, laughter and creativity will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
