Diane JOHNSON, 78, of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Addington Place in Fairfield.

Diane was born January 19, 1945, in Fairfield, IA, to Floyd and Maxine (ALLISON) COLE. She married Richard JOHNSON on October 16, 1966. They celebrated 56 years of marriage before he passed away on January 8, 2023.

Diane lived in the Fairfield area all her life. Some of her places of employment were Coles Grocery, First National Bank, Fairfield Credit Union and Chapel Studios. She and Dick enjoyed watching NASACAR (sic), reading, following Iowa sports, traveling and sitting on the porch swing. Most important was her family. Diane and Dick loved following their children and grandchildren's activities.

Diane will be missed by her two children, Sherry (Chad) BEMIS of Packwood and Ron (Traci) JOHNSON of Simpsonville, SC; 6 grandchildren, Tyler (Claire) JOHNSON, Brooke JOHNSON, Parker JOHNSON, Emily (fiance, Turner HOWARD) BEMIS, Madison BEMIS and Cade BEMIS; and her sister, Cathy (John) GEVOCK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Maxine; husband, Dick JOHNSON; and her brother, Jerry COLE.

A graveside celebration for both Dick and Diane will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 20, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Danny Cary officiating.
