FRANCES LEE KENYON CONGER
Noblesville, IN

Frances Lee KENYON CONGER passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023, in Noblesville, IN.

She was born on November 10, 1928, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield, Iowa, the best and only child of Lewis and Effie KENYON.

At four years old, Frances began Kindergarten in Star Country School near Richland, Iowa and was immediately advanced to first grade. Shortly thereafter, she transferred to Ollie Consolidated School where she was moved to second grade. She graduated from Packwood High School at age 16 in 1945 and began her first job sewing at the Fairfield Glove Factory.

Frances married Warren CONGER on March 31, 1946, and they made their first home in Packwood, Iowa where they welcomed three daughters: Dianne, Mary, and Janet. With all three girls enrolled in school, she began working as a clerk typist in 1960. Throughout her life, Frances was passionate about learning and developing new skills, which led to a long career as a legal secretary/abstractor. Her investigative mind and computer skills made her excel in this field. In 2005 they moved to Noblesville, Indiana, beginning a new chapter and enjoying retirement near grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Frances had a variety of hobbies and interests: genealogy, reading, sewing, crocheting, quilting, needlepoint, cake decorating, ceramics, crafting, music, card games (always playing to win) and technology. She was one of the few of her generation owning an iPhone, iPad and wearing an Apple watch. She followed current events and encouraged her family to take strong positions on important issues. Frances was a member of the Packwood Christian Church.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband; beloved daughter, Janet (Terry) DERBY; and son-in-law, Fred GEORGE.

She is survived by her daughters, Dianne GEORGE and Mary (Steve) ADAM; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tad (Erin EASON) GEORGE, Darrius, Mercedes; Bryce (Christen) ADAM, Morgan (Braydon) DENHAM, Lauren, Jordan; Andrew GEORGE, Otto, Bruno; Aaron (Laurie) DERBY, Blair, Mason; Rachel (Greg) BERKEMEIER, Evan, Simon; Mark (Chantel COLAVECCHIA) ADAM, Clara, Tessa; Nicole DERBY; and Lindsey DERBY.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Packwood Christian Chruch, with Harlan "Frosty" Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Center Cemetery (note: a/k/a Packwood Cemetery). The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to service.

The family would like to thank the caring staff and special friends at Allisonville Meadows Assisted Living in Fishers and Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, Indiana.

Memorial contributions can be directed to Packwood Christian Church or Shriners Hospital for Children by mailing in care of Cranston Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 189, Fairfield, IA 52556. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
