Mrs. Phoebe R. Jones, pioneer resident of this county, died last night at the home of her granddaughter Mrs Belva Macy at Richland.....Howard Grove Cemetery. Daughter of Henry and Rachel Coffin, born Elwood, Ind., Nov. 1840. She is the last one of a family of 10 children. Came with her folks to Pleasant Plain when she was 16 years old and they settled on a farm nearby; married Oct 29 1856 (?) to James M. Jones. Surviving children: David J. of Cody, Wyo.; Alson, three miles northwest of Fairfield; Harvey C. of Veo; Mrs. Wm. Allen of Richland; Mrs. Alva Watson of Veo, and Wm. J. of this city. Two girls and a boy have preceded their parents in death. Husband died Oct 29 1911 on their 55th wedding anniversary.
