LARRY DEAN DIERS
Brighton

Larry Dean DIERS, 64, of Brighton, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at his home.

Larry was welcomed into this world by Julius F. and Margaret A. (HOLLANDER) DIERS on September 23, 1958, in Fairfield, Iowa.

Larry was the instantly the focal point of the family and admired dearly by his three sisters. Larry was raised and learned his work ethic alongside his dad on the family farm.

After graduating from Fairfield High School in 1977, Larry joined his father farming and partnering in the family dirt work and conservation business, Diers Construction.

On August 12, 1989, Larry married Teresa "Terri" HARTMAN. Together they built their life on the family Century farm, where they raised their two children. He was a devoted and proud father.

Larry was a fixture in the neighborhood, always willing to lend a helping hand at a moments notice. When Larry wasn't in the tractor cab or operating a dozer, you could find him tending cattle or enjoying a conversation with family, a friend or neighbor. Larry was a member of the Elks and LICA (Land Improvement Contractors Association).

Larry will be missed by his wife, Terri DIERS of Brighton, two children, Julius "J.D." (Molly BROKKEN) DIERS of Brighton and Dana (Bill) PELZER of Cedarburg, WI; one grandson, Jameson DIERS; three sisters, Juliana DIERS of Sparks, NV, Rose WILSON of St. Simons Island, GA, and Carolyn (Dan) SCHLICHER of Brighton; many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Margaret.

Visitation for family & friends will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2022, at the Word of Life Church with Pastor Jason Christensen officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

In-lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jefferson County Conservation Board or Camp Kyle. Cards and memorials may be mailed to Teresa DIERS, 2615-159 Blvd., Brighton, IA 52540.
