F. L. FLINSPACH DIES; FUNERAL ON SATURDAY
Prominent Farmer Is Summoned After Long Illness

Fred L. FLINSPACH, 606 N. Court street passed away at his home last evening after a long illness.

Mr. FLINSPACH was born in Buchanan township, Jefferson county, Iowa, Jan. 5, 1863 and was a resident of this county his entire life. He was the son of Lorenz and Caroline FLINSPACH who settled in this community, in 1856. He was one of the fourteen children, six of whom are living. They are Mrs. Thomas THOMPSON of Brighton, Ia.; Mrs. Alex GORDON of Bennington, Nebr.; Mrs. Preston L. GORDON of Spokane, Wash; Gust A. FLINSPACH, Edward C. FLINSPACH and Frank T. FLINSPACH all of Fairfield.

He was married to Jennie GILBERT April 3, 1889. They have three children, two daughters and a son, Mrs. R. Glen WHITMER, Oak Park, Ill.; Miss Eileen FLINSPACH of Bloomington, Ill. and Wade FLINSPACH of Fairfield. There is one grandson, Frederic M. FLINSPACH, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wade FLINSPACH.

Mr. FLINSPACH's special interest was the farm and although he retired from active farming and moved to Fairfield in 1914 he never lost interest in his chosen life's work. No task was ever too hard for him because industry was part of his life and he loved to see work well done. Honesty and true devotion to duty were virtues practiced in his everyday life.

Mr. FLINSPACH's purpose in moving to Fairfield was to give his children better educational advantages and he was gratified in seeing all of them graduate from Parsons College. He was a devoted husband and father and the family ties were close and strong. The welfare of those who were nearest and dearest to him was ever his chief concern. He was tenderly cared for during his long illness by his loving wife and children.

Mr. FLINSPACH was a loyal member of the First Methodist Episcopal church of Fairfield, from which place the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, 1938. The services will be in charge of Dr. M. A. Gable. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
